During the 1980's Doctor Tiezzi decided to establish his own estate with the initial acquisition of "Il Cerrino", one of three properties which today form his total holding, and a few years later the farm "Cigaleta". A love for the history of Montalcino, and research of traditions, prompted Tiezzi to acquire the historic farm "Soccorso" of long established illustrious origins because of its association with the life of Prof. Riccardo Paccagnini, recently defined "a pioneer of Brunello", one of the first Montalcinesi to produce and to commercialise Brunello; in fact it was here, in the year 1870 that the first wine with the label "Brunello" was born, a wine that obtained important recognition at Rome, Parigi, Marseille and Bordeaux. The Brunello Soccorso achieved numerous attestations, medals and prizes in the 1800's; all of these are presently housed at my estate as historical documentation of fundamental importance.
